Donor Spotlights
Adib Mattar ’95
Adib Mattar, a current parent, Board Member, and proud alumnus of the Class of 1995, has long viewed ACS as a defining force in his life. As both a trustee and member of the Institutional Advancement Committee, he champions the school’s future with the same conviction that shaped his past. Reflecting on his student years, Adib shares that ACS “didn’t just educate me, it really transformed who I was.” He credits the school with instilling confidence, courage, and public speaking skills that helped shape his identity. “Prior to ACS, I was a different person,” he explains, emphasizing the profound personal growth he experienced during his formative years on campus. Today, that impact fuels his commitment to giving back. “I feel like it is an obligation to give back to a school that really made me who I am,” he says. Through his leadership and philanthropy, Adib continues to invest in the transformative power of an ACS education for generations to come.
Jodi Lefort & Gautam Datta
For ACS Admissions Director Jodi Lefort and her husband, Gautam Datta, ACS is far more than a school; it is a community grounded in values that resonate deeply with their family. Among the earliest donors to the Empowering Futures Campaign, Jodi and Gautam chose to support the arts at ACS, recognizing the essential role creativity plays in shaping well-rounded students. Gautam explains that their philanthropy is rooted in ACS’ vision, mission, and focus on putting students first. Jodi’s daily work offers her a unique window into the impact of giving at ACS. “I get to see firsthand how the generosity of our community impacts the learning environment,” she says. Their family’s gift reflects both their belief in ACS’ core values and their desire to ensure that future students continue to benefit from a vibrant, mission-driven school.
Serena Carnevale
ACS parent, Board Member, and Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee, Serena Carnevale was among the earliest supporters of the Empowering Futures Campaign. Her family’s gift reflects a deeply held belief in the power of education as a catalyst for change. “Investing in education is one of the most meaningful and powerful ways of investing in the future,” she explains. For Serena, philanthropy is an expression of hope in young people’s potential and in the ability of great schools to shape a better world. She sees ACS’ global community as uniquely positioned to empower future generations. “A true legacy is not what we build, but who we empower,” she says. Her generosity and leadership ensure that ACS can continue fostering curiosity, character, and opportunity not only for today’s students but for all those who will follow.
Muhannad Qubbaj
As an ACS parent, former Board Member, and Institutional Advancement Committee Member, Muhannad Qubbaj is deeply connected to ACS. His family’s generous gift, recognized through the naming of the elevated running track in ACS’ state-of-the-art Athletics Center, reflects a heartfelt commitment to enhancing students’ educational journeys. For Muhannad, ACS has always represented “the community, the safe place, and the second home.” He describes giving back not as an obligation but “a privilege,” rooted in gratitude for the environment ACS creates for young people. He believes strongly in a well-rounded educational experience, asking, “You have a great education, but why not make it an exceptional experience for the children as well?” For him, ACS has the ability to empower students by shaping their personality, wellbeing, mental health, and even how students behave at home. Through his support, Muhannad hopes to help ACS continue offering transformative opportunities that support students in every dimension of their development.
Yvette Campbell
As a former ACS parent, former trustee, and now the school’s Advancement Director, Yvette Campbell has experienced ACS from every vantage point, and each has strengthened her belief in the school’s mission. Her personal gift to ACS was made in honor of her two daughters, both proud ACS graduates, and reflects a deep commitment to supporting future generations. “My gift to ACS was intentional,” she shares, driven by her desire to help students “reach their fullest potential, and to be the very best they can be.” Yvette champions the role philanthropy plays in shaping the ACS experience, ensuring the school can continue providing meaningful, student-centered opportunities.
