Celebrating MESAC Season 1

ACS students last weekend participated in the first in-person MESAC events since early 2020. MESAC is the Middle East South Asia Conference, and ACS is one of six member schools. The other members are ABA Oman, American Embassy School New Delhi, American School of Doha, American School of Dubai and Dubai American Academy. The schools come together at the end of our three seasons of sports and activities to compete and celebrate the talents of our students in MESAC events.

In Season 1, ACS sent teams to MESAC Academic Games, Golf, Swimming and Volleyball. Our Academic Games team competed in New Delhi and the team brought home several medals in many of the categories, including the Current Events and Geography Olympiads as well as in the Engineering Challenge.

Our swimmers won many medals in individual events, two school records were broken and the team finished in third place overall at the championship meet in Dubai.

The golf team played 63 holes over three days in an individual and team competition and gained lots of experience on a beautiful course in Muscat.

The JV volleyball teams competed for medals in Dubai. The teams played in some amazing matches, with the boys finishing in third place and the girls taking home the silver medal.

ACS hosted the Varsity volleyball tournament. The stands were packed on Friday morning for the opening games, and it was so good to have such a big event on campus again after almost three years. The boys team battled their way to a fourth place finish, after some intense games throughout the weekend. The girls team played their best volleyball of the season and reached the championship game on Sunday evening. The team won the first set against DAA, and got so close to taking the match to a fifth set. The energy in the gym was amazing, and we are so proud of the girls for their silver medals.

None of this would happen without the dedication of our coaches - thank you so much.
