Glimpse of ACS Facilities (Video created by ACS students)

We appreciate your interest in the American Community School of Abu Dhabi. ACS is a non-profit, US Embassy sponsored, college preparatory school with US accreditation.

In 2020-2021 ACS celebrates 48 years of academic excellence. The school opened in 1972 with fewer than 25 classrooms and today we have approximately 1,200 students from more than 55 countries.

On July 10th, 2018, the ACS Board of Trustees announced that the leadership of Abu Dhabi has designated an approximately six hectare plot of land for ACS to build a new campus located on Saadiyat Island, near New York University Abu Dhabi. This new campus will be double the size of our current campus offering much needed space for athletics, arts, service program, green space and even parking. We anticipate the relocation of our school in 3 - 5 years.

ACS is driven by student learning. Our American-based curriculum promotes excellence in academics, athletics and the arts. Our dynamic educational approach prepares a culturally diverse student body for a lifelong commitment to learning, service and global citizenship.

The concept of community runs deep at ACS. The campus culture fosters a partnership between faculty, parents and students, as we work together to provide an exceptional environment for student learning and development.

Our goal in the Admissions Office is to make the process of applying to ACS as straightforward as possible.  Whether you are applying from the other side of the world or across town, we want to assist you during this process by being welcoming and helpful.

Finding the right school for your children is often the most critical part of any expatriate move and it can be a big challenge as well.

I have two ACS graduates who are now attending university and every day I am reminded of why we chose this school for our family. The faculty is dedicated and professional, the administrators are approachable and willing to listen, the parents are always happy to lend a hand and the students are curious, engaged and supportive of one and other.

We encourage you to investigate our website and learn more about ACS.

I look forward to meeting you.

Warm regards,
Penny Lopez
