Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Education

The American Community School of Abu Dhabi marked a new page in its history with its recent 50th Kickoff Party, a celebration of half a century of excellence in education. On the 50th day of the school’s 50th year, the school welcomed parents, students, alumni, faculty and staff to its campus to honor the school’s historic past as an integral member of the education community in the UAE, as well as its present achievements and future outlook.

One of only 3 schools in the UAE to have reached 50 years, the school’s main walkway was decorated with a number of photos and historic facts showcasing milestone events. An evening filled with music, food and festivities, attendees enjoyed performances from teacher DJ Brad Flickinger and the staff band “Emerging Proficiency” featuring faculty members Adam Cross, Jordan Davis, Rob Desormeau and Lluco Pons, along with ACS parent Jesse Thorstad. Local food vendors included Nolu’s, Allo Beirut, Burro Blanco, Wagamama and La Cuisine de Manou.

The field was full of games and activities including an obstacle course and bouncy house. Inspring and encouraging students with school sprit, ACS mascot Sandy the Sand Viper and retired Mascot Thunder the Falcon were both in attendance.
